DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ULAANBAATAR – THE HERITAGE OF THE KHANS
Meet and greet at the airport and immerse yourself in Mongolian culture. Upon arrival, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant to savor the first authentic flavors. The journey continues with a visit to the exquisite Choijin Lama Temple Museum and the Bogd Khan's Winter Palace, discovering the treasures of Mongolia's last king. The day concludes with a welcome dinner at a traditional restaurant. Overnight stay at a **** hotel.
DAY 2: ULAANBAATAR - ELSEN TASARKHAI – DUNES & NOMADIC WARMTH
Depart for the dunes of Elsen Tasarkhai, a unique landscape where desert and steppe meet. In addition to enjoying a camel ride, you'll visit a local nomad family to discover the hospitality of the central lands, spending the night in a charming ger camp under the stars.
DAY 3: ORKHON VALLEY – TOWARDS UNESCO HERITAGE
Transfer to the legendary Orkhon Valley. After a traditional lunch, we'll visit the stunning Ulaan Tsutgalan Waterfall, a natural spectacle created by ancient volcanic eruptions. In the afternoon, you can relax by the river, cool off in its waters, and observe the daily life of the local nomads up close. Overnight in a comfortable ger camp.
DAY 4: FIRST DAY ON HORSEBACK – ALONG THE SACRED RIVER
Begin your horseback trek through the rolling hills and banks of the Orkhon River. You'll ride in complete freedom through pristine landscapes, enjoying panoramic views and photo opportunities in one of Central Asia's most iconic valleys. In the afternoon, you'll have the thrilling experience of helping to assemble a traditional ger, learning the secrets of this nomadic dwelling directly from the locals. Overnight stay with a nomadic family (ger).
DAY 5: DESTINATION TUVKHUN – THE MONASTERY ON THE SUMMIT
Your day will be spent riding to the mystical Tuvkhun Monastery, perched atop a sacred mountain. You'll ascend through dense larch forests to reach this place of meditation, where you'll enjoy unparalleled views and a picnic lunch immersed in the tranquility of nature. In the afternoon, return to the nomad family for an authentic experience: you'll participate in milking the mares and yaks, discovering the rhythms of rural life. Overnight with the nomad family (ger).
DAY 6: RELAX IN TSENKHER
Travel to the Tsenkher hot springs for a rejuvenating soak in the naturally warm waters, renowned for their healing properties. The afternoon will be entirely dedicated to relaxation, the perfect opportunity to melt away the fatigue accumulated during the horseback trek and rejuvenate body and mind. Overnight stay in a cozy ger camp.
DAY 7: KHUSTAIN NURUU PARK
Departure for Khustain Nuruu National Park, with a stop in the ancient capital of Kharakhorum. Here, we will visit the legendary Erdene Zuu Monastery, Mongolia's first Buddhist center, and the Historical Museum to delve into the Empire's glorious past. In the afternoon, we will continue to Khustain Nuruu to spot wild Takhi (Przewalski) horses in their natural habitat. It will be an exciting opportunity to observe these rare animals in the wild. Overnight at a ger camp.
DAY 8: ULAANBAATAR
Return to Ulaanbaatar. Free time for last-minute shopping: you'll have the opportunity to browse souvenir shops and purchase the famous Mongolian cashmere, renowned worldwide for its quality. In the evening, you'll attend a captivating folk concert, a unique opportunity to listen to harmonious singing and admire traditional dances. Lunch and dinner are free to explore the capital's flavors. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 9: DEPARTURE
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to Italy. You'll take with you the spirit of the steppe and the age-old hospitality of the nomadic people.
